Rehearsals

Prior to shooting our short film, we held a few rehearsal sessions with our cast in order to notify them of:
  1. What the film is about.
  2. What their role in the film will consist of.
  3. Lines/directions/actions within scenes.
This was essential prior to filming our short, due to our large cast. By rehearsing we were trying to avoid any unnecessary time consumption on the day of filming, but also disorganisation.
In the video below you can see the rehearsal between the extras for the 'Quiet Study' scene (Scene 3). Here we tried to make the rehearsal as realistic to the filming day, allocating the cast members in the same location/setting for the scene as well as costume they will be dressed in on the day. We mainly rehearsed for the most dense of action filled/dialogue filled scenes such as the Quiet Study Scene & Detention Scene. The were the scenes with the most characters within them, so went through them as much as we can in order to void time consumption on the day of filming. This beneficially would make it easier for the cast as well as the crew, in what we were all doing.
